Peace and Conflict in Europe 12 years after Russian – Georgian war (PARMENTIER – Georgian MFA)

On a panel chaired by Olivier Védrine, Florent Parmentier was invited by the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs together with Dr. Niel Melvin, Director, International Security Studies, Royal United Services Institute and Liana Fix, Programme Director for International Affairs at Körber-Stiftung.

Florent Parmentier commented on two main topics:

  • Challenges to European security, and prospects how the EU’s and France’s greater involvement can facilitate building peace and security in Eastern Europe?
  • President Macron’s initiative for dialogue with Russia — an opportunity to discuss the unresolved conflicts on Europe’s Eastern Flank?
