The first round of the French Presidential elections has attracted a lot of international attention. The two front-runners are not members from classical parties of the left (Socialist Party) or the right (Les Républicains – LR), but from a far-right party (National Front) and a new political movement (En Marche). After his victory in the first round, Emmanuel Macron is likely to win in a landslide. The debate of May 3rd has only confirmed this trend.
